This page is simply about my story, why CrossFit matters to me, and the community I hope to build here.

 How It All  Started ? 

My name is Charline, and I discovered CrossFit in 2019. From the very first workout, I knew it was different. I still remember my first WOD: I didn’t know how to use a wall ball properly, it fell on my head, I completely lost track of my reps… and yet, the next day, I came back.

 

CrossFit quickly became part of my daily life. I loved the variety, the constant challenge, and above all the support from the community.

 

During lockdown in 2020, I realised how much I appreciated not having to travel far for training. At that time, the closest CrossFit gym was in Ashburton. That’s when the idea came: why not bring CrossFit to Methven, so people here could experience the same benefits without leaving town?

That’s how X-M CrossFit was born.


 

 

So What is CrossFit ?


"CrossFit is a fitness program that produces measurable outcomes through lifestyle changes, centred on training and nutrition. It is accessible to everyone, and it’s fun and effective among friends at a local CrossFit gym."

 CrossFit :  My Story 


Exactly (following the quote above),  CrossFit is a way to walk through life, feeling better in your body and in your mind.

I am French and live in New Zealand and CrossFit did change my life for ever.

Before I started CrossFit I didn't realise how unfit I was.

I was unsecure in my own self and own ability to achieve simple everyday life actions without feeling self-conscious and not well in my body.

 

My sister who was well into CrossFit in 2019 introduced me to the best thing in my life.

I was in a family visit in France and I have always been into sport so she said

"Do you know CrossFit?" I said "Cross What ??" She said "you are going to love it and it's going to be hard" I said "OK"

My first WOD (Workout Of the Day)  had wall ball in (which I had no clue what's or ever what it was) The ball did fall on my head, I didn't count the reps properly ( which my brother in laws noticed ... Lol) and I was sweating and puffing a lot but the next day I was back ahah.

You want to know why ?

 Because the sense of belonging and achieving something hard together as a group did feel really good. 

Back in Nz I looked around my region if we had a CrossFit Box and I found the closest to home in Ashburton Nz.

 I was hooked ! 

I always wanted to create a place of belonging close to home and I though ! 

 I can do it, I can offer a place where people would feel as strong, capable and amazing as I felt after my first few Workouts. 


 My Vision for       X-M  CrossFit 

I want X-M CrossFit to be a place where everyone belongs. No judgment, No egos—just support, encouragement, and the satisfaction of giving your best.

Whether you are completely new to fitness or already experienced, CrossFit movements are adaptable to you. Every movement can be scaled to your level, and every workout is different so you never get bored.

 

It's a fantastic way to start your wellness journey or just keep going in the right direction.
