The Idea all started in 2020, living in the small community of Methven during the lockdown I quite enjoyed the fact that I had no commute to get my workout done (from home). So I decided to try to start my own CrossFit box closer to home. I am passionate about CrossFit since 2019 and I am so happy to be able to share my passion with the wider community.
So, what is CrossFit ?
"CrossFit is a fitness program that produces measurable outcomes through lifestyle changes, centered on training and nutrition. Workouts consist of constantly varied, high-intensity, functional movements, and are most fun and effective among friends at a local CrossFit gym. "(CrossFit.com)
Exactly, CrossFit is a way to walk through life, feeling better in your body and in your mind.
My Name is Charline, I am French and live in New Zealand and CrossFit did change my life for ever.
Before I started CrossFit I didn't realise how unfit I was.
I was unsecure in my own self and own ability to achieve simple everyday life actions without feeling self-conscious and not well in my body.
My sister who was well into CrossFit in 2019 introduced me to the best thing in my life.
I was in a family visit in France and I have always been into sport so she said
"Do you know CrossFit?" I said "Cross What ??" She said "you are going to love it and it's going to be hard" I said "OK"
My first WOD (Workout Of the Day) had wall ball in (which I had no clue what's or ever what it was) The ball did fall on my head, I didn't count the reps properly ( which my brother in laws noticed ... Lol) and I was sweating and puffing a lot but the next day I was back ahah.
You want to know why ?
Because the sense of belonging and achieving something hard together as a group did feel really good.
Back in Nz I looked around my region if we had a CrossFit Box and I found the closest to home in Ashburton Nz.
I was hooked !
I always wanted to create a place of belonging close to home and I though ! I can do it, I can offer a place where people would feel as strong, capable and amazing as I felt after my first few Workouts.
